
The Wethersfield Lady Geese picked up a 51-39 home win Thursday night against Monmouth-Roseville.
The Lady Geese are now 4-2 (0-1) and Mon-Rose is even at 3-3 (0-1 in the TRAC-West).
The Titans came out firing in the first quarter and held a 16-13 lead over Wethersfield. Tatianna Talivaa scored six and three other players scored for Mon-Rose.
Kennady Anderson scored eight and Lana Scott dialed in for a 3-pointer to lead the Lady Geese in the first quarter.
The next three quarters, however, all belonged to Wethersfield. The Lady Geese outscored the Titans 38-23 in the last frames en route to the 51-39 win.
Lajaya Angel scored all of her six points in the second quarter. Camryn Anderson added four and Kennady Anderson made a trey in the 15-7 second quarter.
Paige Huffman hit two 3-pointers in the third and Kennady Anderson tossed in five more as Wethersfield held a 39-31 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
Kendall Vincent, Kennady Anderson and Lana Scott each had four points in the 12-8 final quarter.
Kennady Anderson led all scorers with 20 points and Scott added nine in the win. Tatianna Talivaa scored 14 for Monmouth-Roseville and Brianna Woodard had 12.
The Lady Geese will travel to Sterling Saturday to take on Newman Central Catholic at 4:30 p.m.
