The Lady Geese were back at it Monday in the Wethersfield High School Gym. The varsity took on the Galva Lady Wildcats, beating them in two sets.
The game started slowly, with the teams only gaining a couple of points each. Junior Tinsley Newman got the game rolling with a kill from the right side. The Geese only went up from there.
Senior Natalie Nelson gave the Geese the lead by going on a seven-point serve run. Trying to break the streak, Galva called their first timeout, the score being 8-2 in favor of the Geese.
The Wildcats showed some great skills and kept strong rallies with the Geese. The Geese had better work on the net.
Hits from freshman Kyleigh Anderson and sophomore Jordan Nelson helped the Geese gain a big lead.
The first set ended with the Geese winning 25-12.
In the second set, both teams showed great determination. Galva kept the Geese in line, shortening the gap in the score.
In the end, Senior Emilia Escareno ended the set in serves. The Geese won 25-17.
The Geese season record now advances to 13-1.
