The Wethersfield Lady Geese outlasted Peoria Christian Thursday night in a three-set road win (25-12, 23-25, 25-14). The Wethersfield sophomores also prevailed (25-17, 25-14). 

Senior setter Raqi Young and WHS outside hitter Kendall Vincent were in sync throughout the match. Young distributed 28 assists and Vincent had 18 kills for the 7-2 Lady Geese. The Chargers are now 4-6 on the season. 

Kennady Anderson chipped in with 6 kills; Emerson Nelson, Lajaya Angel and Sophie Nimrick each had 4; Young 3; and Camryn Anderson 1. Abigail Cabada added one assist. 

WHS libero Cora Hodge and K. Anderson defended the back row with 21 and 14 digs apiece. Marlie Lindstrom, Vincent and Nimrick added 8, 5 and 2, respectively. Jillian Taylor and C. Anderson each had one. 

The Lady Geese served 8 aces in the match (Hodge had 4 and K. Anderson 2). Young and Lindstrom had one apiece. Angel had 4 blocks and Young added one. 

Wethersfield’s sophomore and freshmen teams split with Mercer County Wednesday night. The sophs won in three sets (27-25, 20-25, 15-0). The freshmen lost in two (15-25, 22-25).
