The Wethersfield girls basketball team moved to 2-0 in the Brimfield Tourney after beating Knoxville, 47-34.

In Wednesday’s tournament action, the Lady Geese took an early 13-6 lead and maintained a sizable lead throughout the game.

Anderson scored nine in the first quarter and junior forward Lajaya Angel scored four of her six points in the frame.

The Lady Geese held Knoxville to just four second quarter points and a total of 10 in the first half to extend the lead, 28-10, at the half.

Knoxville’s Addison Orr made three treys in the fourth quarter, helping Knoxville outscore the Lady Geese 17-11 down the stretch. The Wethersfield lead, however, proved too much for Knoxville to overcome.

Orr led Knoxville with 15 points.
