The varsity girls’ Lady Geese basketball team took home their second win against the Morrison Fillies with a score of 60-22 on Monday.

The Flying Geese started the game fast as they showed their balanced attack and strong teamwork. The starting girls stayed strong throughout the majority of the first period.

Toward the end of the first quarter, the starters went out, and everyone got a chance to play. They ended the first quarter with a 16-5 lead.

The Lady Geese had many steals and blocks against the Fillies on defense, contributing to the high-scoring game. They stood strong while Morrison had the ball and took it for themselves easily.

They seldom allowed the Fillies to score and stole the ball repeatedly. By halftime, the score was 33-13.

Periods three and four went by just as fast with a running clock midway through the fourth quarter.

Lana Scott was Wethersfield’s highest scorer of the night with 17 points. The defensive anchors Camryn Anderson and Emersyn Nelson both had an impressive game and were essential to the amount of steals and rebounds made by the team.

This win showcases the teamwork and hustle that the Lady Geese have, and helps to keep the team’s momentum going.

The next game is against the Farmington Farmers at 6 p.m. in Farmington. Come out to support your Lady Geese.
