On Tuesday night, the Geese played Abingdon-Avon and beat them in two sets.

Before the game started, the team threw T-shirts out to the student section. The students can now wear these shirts to showcase their support and Geese pride.

The Geese had a good start to the game, and their serves gave them great momentum to start strong over Abingdon.

Abingdon had great swings at the net, which helped them keep a tight game with the Geese. The Geese only responded with great defense and hits of their own.

The first set ended 25-20 in favor of the Geese.

The Geese only got better from that point on. Hits from sophomore Jordan Nelson and senior Camryn Anderson helped the Geese gain a greater lead throughout the set.

Abingdon could not keep up with the Geese. This caused them to call a time out with the score being 23-11 Geese.

The Geese used this as an opportunity to close out the set. Abingdon could not work together to pull out the win. The second set ended 25-11 Geese.

The Geese season record now stands at 22-2. Their conference record is now 7-0.

The Geese will return to the WHS high school gym tonight to play Riverdale. All three levels will be playing. Freshman at 5 p.m., JV at 6 p.m., and varsity at 7 p.m.

The student section theme for Thursday’s game will be GREEN OUT.
