Wethersfield hosted Riverdale in non-conference volleyball action Thursday night. The Lady Geese won their final home game of the season, 25-18, 25-15. 

Wethersfield enters post season play with a record of 24-6-1. 

WHS setter Raqi Young had 18 assists and four aces. Kendall Vincent had seven kills, Kennady Anderson had five and Lajaya Angel had four on the night. 

Libero Cora Hodge led the team in digs with 17. Anderson and Vincent each added nine. Emersyn Nelson had five digs and three blocks. 

The sophomore team came back from a 24-26 first game loss and won the last two games, 25-22, 15-10 for the win.

The freshman squad lost 25-10, 25-20. 

Wethersfield is the No. 2 seed in the Putnam County Regional (in Granville) and they have a first round bye. They’ll play the winner of Monday’s quarterfinal match up between Ridgewood (10) and Galva (11). That game will start 6 p.m.

The Wethersfield semifinal match will be played Wednesday at 6 p.m.
