The Kewanee Police Department will hold a free informational meeting on its newest program, the Alcohol Addiction Response Team on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 10 am at the First United Methodist Church.

D.A.A.R.T. was created to provide a direct and sustained approach to promote mental well-being. The program was created to help prevent substance addiction and will support treatments and recovery opportunities by targeting community members who cope with mental health disorders, mental health crises, and drug and alcohol dependence.

On hand at the meeting will be Kewanee Deputy Chief Stephen Kijanowski and Det. James Mock, who will provide a presentation on the program. The public is invited to attend.
