Despite a second-place finish from Jason Rusk, Kewanee High School’s cross country team tied for second place Thursday in the Bureau Valley Quad Meet at Manlius Park.

Rusk’s time of 19:08 was less than minute behind race winner Augustus Swanson of Princeton.

Chase Palm (20:26) and Hunter Vancil (20:47) of Kewanee finished seventh and eighth, while Mitchal Thorp was 16th with 21:50 and Miles Yelm was 25th with 25:56.

The host Storm won the race with a team score of 45. Kewanee and Princeton tied with 53, while Hall placed fourth with 72.
