
Saturday marked a special day, on and off the mat, for the Kewanee wrestling team. On the mat, the Boilermakers picked up duel team wins over Putnam County (84-0) and Mendota (82-0).
Away from the mat, Head Coach Charley Eads was recognized for his 200th career dual meet win. Eads took over the KHS program in 2007 and during his tenure he led the Boilermakers to three regional titles and one NCIC (Lincoln) title.
In the win against Putnam County, the Boilermakers won seven matches by pin, six by forfeit and one match by injury.
In the win over Mendota, the Boiler mat men won six matches by pin, one by major decision and seven by forfeit.
Dontel Wommack and Alejandro Duarte each picked up two wins by pin.
