The Kewanee Boilermakers cross country team is approaching the end of its 2025 season.
The team traveled to the state meet course at Detweiller Park in Peoria on Saturday looking to improve some times heading into the regional meet next weekend.
Leading the way for Kewanee was Jendayia Crowe, finishing 35th in a new personal best of 19:36 in her first time on the state course.
Crowe had also medaled and finished 13th in 19:40 at Amboy on Monday, and if she continues to improve in the next two weeks she has a chance to qualify for the state meet.

The other runner working to qualify for sectional is Hunter Vancil. Vancil missed the Amboy meet due to illness, but returned Saturday and dropped another 21 seconds off of his best, finishing 72nd in 17:13. Jason Rusk finished in 19:12 after a time of 18:55 in Amboy. Anthony Padilla equaled his personal best in Peoria running 20:09, and Tiffany Helton finished in 32:16.
The team runs its regional meet next Saturday. If Crowe and Vancil run their bests they should both qualify for sectional.
