Last week, Kewanee High School hosted its last track meet of the year, the 79th annual Brockman Invitational. 

At this event, Kewanee invites local teams, including Annawan-Wethersfield and Stark County, to compete.

This track meet is also treated as a senior night to honor the 14 track and field seniors.

By the end of the meet, the boys team took second, losing to first place by 12 points. The girls team took second as well, only losing by one point.

Senior Tyson Currie – Pole Vault (1st)

Senior Prestin Stabler – 400 Meters (2nd)

Senior Leocadio Gandarilla – Shot Put (1st), Discus (2nd)

Junior Jason Rusk – 3200 Meters (4th)

Junior Anthony Padilla – 110m Hurdles (1st), 300m Hurdles (1st)

Sophomore Michael Bermudez – 800 Meters (2nd)

Sophomore Alex Ly – 3200 Meters (2nd)

Freshmen Chris Crowe – High Jump (1st), Long Jump (5th)

Freshmen Lain Taylor – 800 Meters (3rd)

Freshmen Evan Cleaver – 110m Hurdles (4th)

Senior Tejhiana Amos – 200 Meters (5th), High Jump (2nd)

Senior Alejandra Martinez – 3200 Meters (2nd)

Sophomore Jendayia Crowe – 110m Hurdles (1st), 300m Hurdles (1st), High Jump (4th)

Sophomore Nolie Charlet – 1600 Meters (2nd)

Sophomore Danielle Jo Currier – Long Jump (3rd), Triple Jump (1st)

Near the end of the night, seniors Leocadio Gandarilla and Tejhiana Amos were crowned king and queen of the Brockman Invitational, an honor given to two graduating seniors from the track and field program each year.
