On Oct. 15, the KHS varsity volleyball team won two sets against the Hall Red Devils, 25-17 and 26-24.

Claire Taylor’s serves were particularly strong, with four aces and nine service points earned throughout the sets. 

Along with Macee Pickering’s six kills and seven assists, these points pushed the Boilers to a victory.

In terms of defense, Taylor VanWinkle and Kendyl DeBlick stood out by both getting six digs, and Claire Taylor was close behind with five digs.

Tejhianna Amos: 4 kills, 1 block, 1 assist

Kendyl DeBlick: 1 kill, 6 digs, 2 aces, 5 service points, 7 assists

Claire Taylor: 5 digs, 4 aces, 9 service points

Macy Anderson: 4 kills, 1 dig, 2 aces, 8 service points

Aaliyah Duarte: 1 kill, 1 block, 1 ace, 7 service points

Macee Pickering: 6 kills, 5 digs, 1 block, 1 service point, 7 assists

Bailey VanWinkle: 2 digs

Taylor VanWinkle: 4 kills, 6 digs, 1 ace, 3 service points

Kewanee’s sophomore team won in two sets, 25-18 and 26-24.

Kewanee’s freshman team also won in two sets, 25-15 and 25-10.

The varsity volleyball team will be in action this Thursday, Oct. 17, against Newman Central Catholic High School in Brockman Gym.
