The Kewanee Boiler Girls picked up a conference wins at all three levels Tues night at home against Mendota. The varsity team outlasted Mendota in three sets, 26-24, 23-25, 25-19. The sophomores won in three as well, 22-25, 25-12, 25-19 and the freshmen squad, 25-10, 25-14.

Senior setter, Avery Yepsen, distributed 23 assists throughout the match. Freshman setter, Macee Pickering, added 10 on the night. Yepsen’s stat line includes 10 service points, six kills and six digs. Pickering added nine kills and four dogs.

Leading the attack at the net was senior Emma Ellenberger with 16 kills. She added six digs, two blocks, one service point and one assist. Senior Jillian Bennison recorded five kills and juniors Tejhiana Amos and Aaliyah Duarte each had four kills in the match. 

Bennison also had seven service points (one ace) and five digs. Amos had one assist. Duarte led the team in blocks with three. She also had three service points (one ace) and two digs. 

Sophomore libero Taylor VanWinkle contributed six digs and six service points. Senior Melissa Fragoso had six service points and one dig. Junior Marlee Bates had three digs and freshman Damaris Diaz added one kill. 

The varsity Boiler Girls are 11-13-1 on the season and 4-5 in Three Rivers play. Mendota is 9-15-1 and 3-6 in the conference. 

The KHS sophomores move to 25-4 (9-0) and freshman squad is 20-1-1 (8-1). 

Kewanee will host Hall tomorrow night at 6 p.m.
