The Kewanee High School boys golf team competed against Rockridge and Sterling Newman at Emerald Hills in Sterling.

The varsity squad placed second with a team score of 218.

“Emerald Hills provided a great challenge for our team as the greens are smaller and quicker than most greens. Great challenges mean great preparation for postseason courses,” said Coach Brett VanDeWostine.

James McGarvey had the low round for the JV squad. His score of 43 was the best on the JV and varsity teams.

Other JV scores were Carver Neulieb 64, Douglas Swearingen 62, Marshall Lewis 69, Jaxon DeReu 49 and Adam Keyser 71.

Reid Nichols and Owen Laue Both had 47s. They were the low scores for the varsity.

Other varsity scores were Jack Anderson 52, Lincoln Throneburg 54, Elijah Mitchell 57 and Easton Blake 57.

The boys will be back in action on Thursday at Chapel Hills Golf Course in Princeton.
