Two student-athletes from Kewanee High School made history at the Rosenberry Meet at the Westwood Center on April 2.

Junior standout Jendayia Crowe set a new varsity indoor 60-meter hurdles school record with a time of 10.22 seconds, breaking the previous mark and securing her place at the top of KHS history in the event.

Her performance now ranks number one on the KHS Top 10 indoor all-time list for the 60m hurdles.

Mekya Powe also broke a school record in the freshman/sophomore indoor 60-meter hurdles with a time of 10.98 seconds. Her achievement places her third all-time on the KHS Top 10 indoor list in that event.

“These accomplishments reflect the dedication, discipline, and competitive spirit of our student-athletes,” Supt. Rebecca Baney said. “Jendayia and Mekya continue to raise the standard for excellence at Kewanee High School, and we are incredibly proud of their achievements.”
