On the first day of May, the Women’s Guild of St. Peter’s Evangelical Church in Kewanee delivered cookies to Kewanee firefighters at both Station 1 and Station 2.

The delivery was in recognition of May Day, and came with a card expressing the women’s appreciation for the firefighters’ service to the community.

The cookies, peanut butter, oatmeal raisin, sugar and snickerdoodles, were purchased by the guild from the Henry County Senior Citizens.

Each station received a box of the treats. At station 2, firefighters Kyle Blair, Andrew Welgat and Greg Rusk were on hand to accept the gift.
