The Kewanee Police Departmentparticipated in a traffic safety enforcement effort over Labor Day weekend. During the campaign officers issued: 

7 seat belt citations
17 speeding citations
7 child restraint citations
3 cell phone citations
1 reckless driving citation
2 suspended registration citations
3 illegal transportation of alcohol citations
5 no insurance citations
1 disobey a stop sign citation
4 no lights when required citations
5 stop light citations
1 driving while license revoked citation
1 driver’s license permit citation
2 illegal transportation of adult use cannabis citations
2 driving while license suspended citations
1 improper turn citation
2 no turn signal citations
2 improper lane usage citations
1 no valid driver’s license citations

The Kewanee Police Department collaborated with other law enforcement agencies and highway safety partners across the state for this Illinois Labor Day traffic safety campaign. 

This effort was part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over,” “Drive High Get a DUI” and “Click It or Ticket” initiatives, funded by federal highway safety funds through the Illinois Department of Transportation.
