The city of Kewanee is currently accepting applications from motivated individuals seeking a rewarding career in public service. Qualified applicants will be considered for placement on the initial hiring list for the Kewanee Fire Department.

According to a news release issued by the Kewanee fire chief, the Kewanee Fire Department is committed to protecting the lives and property of Kewanee’s residents, businesses, and visitors.

The department provides:

● Fire protection
● Emergency medical services – EMS
● Hazardous materials emergency response

All new hires receive comprehensive training at an accredited fire academy and are certified to the paramedic level in EMS.
