The Kewanee Chamber of Commerce Concert in the Park Series welcomed the “Jim Markum Swing Band” for its 20th performance at Veterans Park Thursday.

A little over 100 residents turned out to listen to the music and enjoy some food that was served up by the Kewanee High School FFA. The concert will mark the start of the 27th year for the event, which was first organized by KCOC Executive Director Mark Mikenas in 1996.

Next week’s Thursday concert will feature the Kewanee Community Band, “Jazz on the Side.”
