Recently I was reminiscing about a delightful treat introduced to me by a co-worker from my time in Des Moines. It was nearly 20 years ago when he brought in a batch of Dreamy Sugar Cookies that forever changed my perception of this classic cookie. Light and airy with a burst of sweet flavor, the cookies quickly became one of my favorites.
As a longtime fan of enjoying sugar cookies with frosting during the holiday season, I realized that these delightful cookies could—and should—be enjoyed all year long. What’s even better is that they can be customized with sprinkles, making them perfect for any occasion. I remember taking these cookies to gatherings when my kids were little; the vibrant seasonal sprinkles made them irresistible!

It had been years since I last baked these cookies, but this week, I located the recipe. My son, Max, was eager to help, and together we whipped up a batch. They turned out great and only lasted two days at our house.

The secret lies in the cookie’s light, airy texture and its sweet flavor, perfectly complemented by a generous layer of homemade frosting. These cookies are sure to be a hit in your kitchen as they were in ours.
From our kitchen to yours — enjoy!
