Families and cookie lovers were able to get a treat and see dinosaurs Wednesday when the I Heart Cookie Co. brought their food truck and animatronic dinosaur displays to the parking lot of Farm King.

The Wichita, Kansas-based company not only sells its signature deep-dish cookies online but also owns cookie trucks and trailers that travel around to towns, where, for several hours, people can purchase cookies and visit the dinosaur display behind the truck.

Business at the cookie truck in Kewanee was steady, one worker at the truck window said, as residents lined up for cookies and then proceeded behind the truck to catch the dinosaur show.

Varieties of deep-dish cookies offered are chocolate chip, buttercream sugar cookies, peanut butter and chocolate, Belgian waffle, circus animal cookies, monster cookies, Oreo brownie and caramel chocolate chip. The cookies could be individually purchased for $5 each.

Kids could dig for dinosaur fossils in the sandbox that was part of the display.

Dinosaurs & I Heart Cookies can be found on Facebook, where the company advertises its locations. The company’s service area includes Illinois along with Oklahoma, Colorado, Missouri, Iowa, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Texas and Arkansas.
