
Wethersfield volleyball tops Bureau Valley
Wethersfield’s varsity volleyball team defeated Bureau Valley 25-23, 25-16.
Individual stats were:
Camryn Anderson – 9 kills, 1 block, 5 digs
Abigail Cabada- 18 assists, 2 blocks, 5 digs, 5 aces
Kendall Vincent – 7 kills, 9 digs
Emersyn Nelson – 4 kills, 5 blocks
Lajaya Angel – 1 block
Natalie Nelson – 2 kills, 1 block, 1 ace, 4 digs
Ava Salazar – 3 digs
Wavelynn Peart – 3 digs, 1 assist

Megan Oliver – 1 dig

Wethersfield’s sophomores won 25-17, 25-16. Bureau Valley won the freshman game 28-26, 25-16.
On Monday, Wethersfield’s varsity, sophomore and freshman teams all defeated Bureau Valley.
KHS cross country teams run in Princeton
Kewanee High School cross country ran in Princeton Tuesday afternoon against Princeton and Fieldcrest.
For the Boiler Girls, Alejandra Martinez finished in fourth place with a time of 24:49, Esmeralda Martinez was right behind her in fifth at 25:00, and Tiffany Helton finished 13th with a time of 34:17.
For the boys, Jason Rusk was the first Boiler finisher in third with time of 19:32 followed by Hunter Vancil at 19:40.
Kewanee’s three freshman boys finished their first race with Jordan Housley in eighth at 22:53, Jermain McKnight in 12th at 26:30 and Adam Keyser in 13th at 26:40.
The five boys finished second to Princeton in team scoring. Kewanee will be back in Princeton on Saturday morning for the Princeton Invitational.

Bartonville (Limestone) defeated Kewanee in tennis, 5-0.
