Homecoming Week has finally arrived for the Boilermakers and the Boilers are preparing to take on the Mendota Trojans at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, at the KHS football stadium. 

Fans who can’t make the game in person, can watch the livestream available on the Kewanee High School Sports and Special Events YouTube channel here.

This Saturday, Oct. 5, Kewanee High School will be hosting their annual homecoming dance in the Brockman Gym from 8-11 p.m. with a $10 entry fee. The homecoming theme for this year is “Broadway,” and KHS senior class will be putting on the dance.

The high school is showing the homecoming spirit with the following dress-up days:

  • Monday: Yoga Mom vs. Barbecue Dad 
  • Tuesday: Wild West vs. West Coast
  • Wednesday: Teacher/Student Swap
  • Thursday: Class Colors
  • Friday: Boiler Pride

There will also be homecoming events every day this week. On Monday KHS held the kickoff assembly with games and competitions in Brockman Gym. 

On Tuesday, spirit games will occur in Brockman Gym starting at 7 p.m. 

On Thursday night, KHS will be hosting its annual bonfire at 7:30 p.m. (In the event of rain, this event will be held in Brockman Gym). 

On Friday, the homecoming royalty will be announced at the homecoming assembly at Peterson Auditorium starting at noon. 

After the homecoming assembly, there will be the parade at 2:15 p.m.
