The Henry County Senior Citizens is hosting the 10th annual golf outing on Sept. 9, and the proceeds will benefit the organization’s Home Delivered Meal Program.

The Golf Playday will have a shotgun start at Midland Golf Club, located at 3536 Midland Dr., at 1 pm. Play is preferred ball, 18 holes. A steak dinner will be included in the price and will be held after play at the golf club. Cost is $65 per person and includes golf, cart and dinner. The steak dinner only is $25 and tickets for that can be purchased at the Henry Co. Senior Center. Both golf entries and dinner tickets are due by Sept. 1.

Sponsorships are available for $100 and sponsors will receive a sign on a tee box and greens. Monetary donations will be acknowledged at the outing.

Donated items are also welcomed. A wish list for donated items include gift cards, electronics, golf accessories, sports tickets and memorabilia, and baskets of items such as food, movies, wine, etc. All donations are tax deductible and all of the proceeds go to the HCSC home delivery meal program. Donated items should be delivered to the Senior Center by Aug. 21 or call the center at (309) 853-8831 for donation pick up. Items can also be mailed to Henry County Senior Center, Attn: Chris Hancock, 200 E. South St., Kewanee.

Supporting the golf event directly impacts the lives of seniors and helps the organization continue the commitment to serve seniors in Henry County. Additionally, sponsors can benefit from exposure for their business. Sponsors and donors will be listed on the board. Business brochures and cards of sponsors and donors can also be distributed during the event and is a great way to demonstrate support of the HCSC organization.

The home delivered meal program has been increasing and is now currently delivers an average of 5600 meals a month to Orion, Colona, Geneseo, Lynn Center, Andoer, Cambridge, Galva, Bishop Hill, Atkinson, Annwan and three routes in Kewanee. The increased price of food and fuel has made it more difficult to continue to make sure senior citizens get the proper nutrition.

Sign up forms for teams of four for the golf playday are available at the Senior Center. Any questions can be directed to Hancock at (309) 853-8831.
