Law enforcement officials have yet to release the name of the victim of a two-vehicle crash that occurred on Friday, Aug. 16.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office released an incident report over the weekend. According to the agency, the two-vehicle crash occurred Friday at approximately 3:15 p.m. at the Galva Atkinson Blacktop and N 500.

Deputies arrived on the scene and found two vehicles involved in the crash with each vehicle having multiple occupants requiring medical assistance.

The occupants of both vehicles were transported to area hospitals; one occupant was critically injured and taken by Life Flight Services to OSF in Peoria where they were later pronounced deceased.

Galva police and fire departments, Stark County Ambulance Service, Life Flight Medical Services, Bishop Hill Fire Department and the Kewanee Ambulance Service also responded to the accident.

In the incident report, the HCSO stated that the accident remains under review and additional details would be released in the future.
