The Kewanee Salvation Army 360 Life Center announced the proceeds of the 2023 Red Kettle Campaign at its first advisory board meeting of the year on Feb. 15.

The campaign surpassed its goal of $40,000 and raised a total of $43,078.67. Many thanks were given to the Star and Candy Cane sponsors, the Kewanee Klassics, the First Congregational Church Christmas Concert and the Battle of the Bell participants, which included the Kewanee Fire Department versus the Kewanee Police Department, the Bear fans versus Packer fans and Santa versus the Grinch, as well as all the other volunteer bell ringers.

All of the funds raised over the holiday season stay in the area to provide local support and allow the Salvation Army to meet the needs of families and individuals not just at Christmastime but throughout the year.
