On Thursday night, the Geese ended their season with a loss against ROWVA/Williamsfield in the regional championship. 

Both teams fought hard and persevered throughout the whole game. Here is the rundown: 

The Geese started strong in the first set. Senior Abigial Cabada gained the Geese a lead of 2-0 due to good serves. The Cougars didn’t let them get a big lead. 

Both teams completed long rallies, hoping to tire each other out. ROWVA tried to trick the Geese by sending over tips. The Geese responded by playing the ball and giving them strong hits back. 

The Cougars called their first time out with the score being 13-8, Geese. After this, the Cougars started to come back. It wasn’t enough to pull ahead. The first set ended 25-20 in favor of the Geese.

At the start of the second set, the Geese gained an early lead. They had great work at the net and strong serves. The teams battled it out the whole set, not allowing each other to pull ahead for long. 

When the Cougars started to gain momentum, the Geese called a timeout. The score being 13-18, Cougars. 

The Geese got back out there and tried their best to pull ahead, but only gained a small amount of points. The Cougars had good hits that the Geese just couldn’t pop up.

The Cougars won the second set 18-25, advancing to a third set. 

The Geese started with the serve and got on a roll early. With the score being 6-4 Geese, the Cougars were determined to pull ahead. 

Due to great hits and smart plays at the net, the score was tied 13-13. After this, the Cougars started to pull ahead. The Geese had the Cougars in close reach.

The Cougars called a timeout with the score being 20-23 in their favor. If the Geese wanted to win, they would need to come back strong. 

In the end, the Geese couldn’t pull out the win. The Cougars won the third set 23-25, making them the Class 1A regional champions. 

The Geese ended their season with a record of 30-7. 

Even if the season didn’t end the way they wanted, the Geese have a lot to be proud of this year.
