Police met with the relative of a resident to turn over firearms that had been held at the Galva Police Department for safekeeping after an earlier suicide attempt.

Renee Rose, 22, Bradford, was arrested for driving while her license was suspended as the result of a traffic stop in the 00 block of SW 2nd Street. She was taken to the Galva Police Department for processing and later released with a required court date.
Sept. 17:
Police were flagged down by a resident in the 200 block of NW 5th Street to inquire about a FOID card suspension. The subject had received a new card in the mail. It was found to be valid again.
Police responded to a verbal domestic disturbance involving an out-of-control juvenile in the 200 block of NW 7th Avenue.
Police responded to a complaint of verbal domestic disturbance and a request to remove an unwanted subject in the 500 block of SW 3rd Avenue.
Police responded to a complaint of several juveniles dressed in all-black clothing and lurking around several businesses after closing time in the 300 block of Main Street. The officer was not able to locate the subjects.
Police responded to a 9-1-1 open line complaint in the 600 block of SW 5th Avenue. It was determined to be an accidental dial.
Sept. 18:
Police responded to a complaint of criminal damage to a vehicle after a windshield was found damaged in the 1000 block of North Center Avenue. The complaint remains under investigation.
Police responded to a complaint of possible sexual abuse that occurred at a residence in Galva. The case remains under investigation.
Police responded to a 9-1-1 open line complaint in the 300 block of North Center Avenue. The officer spoke to a resident, who denied needing assistance.
Police responded to a complaint about a passing motorist dumping a dog out of the vehicle and speeding away in the 600 block of SE Industrial Avenue. The officer was not able to locate the dog or the vehicle.

Sept. 20:
While patrolling, police noticed that several railroad crossing arms were activated, and no trains were present. BNSF was contacted for repairs.

Sept. 21:
Police responded to a disturbance complaint involving several patrons in the 300 block of Front Street.
Police responded to a request to check the welfare of a subject at a residence on NE 6th Avenue.
Police assisted a motorist who locked the keys inside their vehicle in the 700 block of West Division Street. They were referred to a locksmith.
A utility wire that had been pulled down by farm machinery in the 300 block of NW 8th Avenue was reported. Mediacom was contacted for repairs.
Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 600 block of NW 4th Avenue. It was taken to impound and later released to its owners from rural Bishop Hill.
Troy Anderson, 61, Alpha was issued a citation for disobeying a stop sign in the 200 block of SW 2nd Street.
