An unwanted subject was removed in the 100 block of NE 7th Street.
Police responded to a complaint about harassing phone messages in the 300 block of NW 4th Avenue.
Jamie Howard, 36, of Galva, was arrested for theft over $500 and theft of utility services as a result of a theft complaint last week. She was issued a notice to appear and released with a required court date.
Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 600 block of NW 3rd Avenue. The animal owner arrived and took possession of the dog.
Police responded to a city ordinance violation for having a large collection of furniture in public view in the 100 block of NW 3rd Avenue. The residents were warned and cleaned up the items.
Police assisted a subject who locked themselves out of their house in the 500 block of NE 2nd Street. The officer was able to locate an unlocked door and assisted the subject in gaining entry.
Police responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint in the 800 block of NE 2nd Street. The officer determined the subject was looking at a lawnmower for sale.
Police met with a subject to collect a debit card that was turned in to the Galva Police Department. It was returned to its rightful owner.
Patrick Hammons, 69, Galva, was arrested on a Henry County “no bond” warrant for failing to appear on the charge of driving while license is suspended after an attempt by police to locate a wanted subject in the 500 block of SW 7th Street. He was transported to Henry County Jail.
Oct. 7:
Police responded to an illegal burning complaint in the 00 block of SW 9th Avenue. The officer responding determined that the complaint was unfounded.
Police assisted the Galva Water Department in the 900 block of West Division Street.
Police responded to a solicitor complaint in the 200 block of SE 6th Street. The officer located the subject and referred him to City Hall to obtain a permit.
Police assisted a stranded subject walking east of town along Route 34.
Police responded to a reckless driving complaint at the north edge of town. The officer located the suspect vehicle but did not have probable cause for a traffic stop.
Police assisted a resident who appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis in the 700 block of NW 4th Street.
Police, along with the fire department, were dispatched several miles northwest of town for a fully engulfed vehicle fire.
Oct. 8:
Police conducted a welfare check of a subject lying in the ditch on Route 17 near the Galva Cemetery. It was a repairman doing utility maintenance.
Police responded to a 9-1-1 open line call in the 300 block of SW 3rd Street. It was determined to be an accidental misdial.
Oct. 9:
Police met with a Galva resident at the Galva Police Department to update their sex offender registration. A completed copy was emailed to Henry County for entry into the Law Enforcement Agencies Data System (LEADS).
A citizen was assisted in the 900 block of SE 2nd Street.
Oct. 10:
Police responded to a disturbance involving a group of juveniles in the 100 block of Front Street.
Police responded to a 9-1-1 open line call in the 800 block of NE 1st Avenue. It was a misdial.
Police responded to an unwanted subject/child custody dispute in the 100 block of NW 2nd Avenue.
Police responded to a disorderly conduct complaint in the 900 block of West Division Street.
Lucero Duarte, 24, Kewanee, was issued a citation for speeding in the 800 block of North Center Avenue.
Oct. 11:
Police responded to an activated panic alarm in the 1000 block of SE 2nd Street. It was a false alarm.
Alexandria Pollock, 25, Kewanee, was issued a citation for failure to yield the right-of-way while turning left after police responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of SE 2nd Street and SE 3rd Avenue.
Police responded to a harassment complaint in the 100 block of NE 7th Street.
Police responded to a threat complaint in the 1000 block of SW 2nd Street.
Police responded to a complaint involving juvenile mischief in the 600 block of NW 1st Avenue.
Oct. 12:
Police responded to a civil complaint involving a vehicle that was taken without permission, damaged, and abandoned in the 100 block of SW 8th Avenue.
Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang-up in the 800 block of East Division Street. It was determined to be an accidental pocket dial.
