Steven Mecum, 32, Galva, was arrested for driving while his license was revoked and operating an off-highway motorcycle on a public roadway following a traffic stop in the 300 block of SW 3rd Street. He was released with a required court date.
Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang-up in the 300 block of SW 3rd Street. The caller appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis.
Police responded to a single-vehicle accident in the 900 block of SE 2nd Street where a vehicle was in the ditch. An elderly subject had attempted to turn into a private driveway and miscalculated the turn. No damage or injuries were reported, and the vehicle was driven back onto the roadway.
Police responded to an unknown problem in the 500 block of SW 3rd Street. A subject that appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis but denied needing any services.
Police responded to a reckless driving complaint at the east edge of town. The officer located the suspect vehicle but was not able to find any reason to conduct a traffic stop.
Richard Sullivan, 67, Kewanee, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was revoked and having expired registration following a traffic stop in the 200 block of SE 5th Avenue. He was released with a required court date.
Nov. 26:
Police responded to a 9-1-1 open line complaint in the 800 block of NW 7th Avenue. It was determined to be a misdial.
Police responded to a two-vehicle accident with damage only in the 500 block of SE 2nd Street. A crash report was completed.
Police responded to a theft complaint in the 700 block of NW 4th Street. The caller appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis.
Police responded to a complaint of an aggressive and loose dog in the 100 block of Main Street. The owner had taken the dog inside before the officer’s arrival.
Police responded to a reckless driving complaint at the east edge of town. The suspect vehicle was located, but no probable cause was found for a traffic stop.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang-up call in the 100 block of SW 4th Street. The officer was not able to locate anyone needing assistance.
Police responded to a verbal domestic disturbance in the 1000 block of NW 7th Avenue.
Nov. 28:
Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 500 block of SW 3rd Avenue. Upon arrival, several subjects denied anything had happened and they advised that they were not willing to cooperate.
Adam DeWolfe, 25, Kewanee, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle following a traffic stop in the 900 block of SE 2nd Street. He was released with a required court date.
Police responded to a telephone harassment complaint in the 200 block of SE 7th Avenue
Police assisted a hitchhiker on Route 34 near Midland Road. The subject was given a ride to a business in Galva to await a further ride.
Police assisted Henry County with a domestic disturbance in the 500 block of East Main Street in Bishop Hill.
Nov. 29:
While patrolling, police noticed all Galva railroad crossing arms were down and activated with no trains present. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Police assisted a citizen who appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis in the 700 block of NW 4th Street.
Police responded to a civil complaint in the 200 block of SE 7th Avenue.
Police assisted Knox County with an activated burglar alarm just south of town. It was determined to be a false alarm.
A 17-year-old subject from Woodstock, Ill., was issued citations for speeding and operating an uninsured vehicle in the 1000 block of North Center Ave.
Laura Jenkins-Reffett, 59, Altona, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1000 block of North Center Avenue.
Jeffrey Godke, 48, Roselle, Ill., was issued a citation for speeding in the 1000 block of North Center Avenue.
A 17-year-old driver from Princeville, Ill., was issued a citation for speeding in the 900 block of North Center Avenue
Nov. 30:
While patrolling, police noticed a train had stopped and was blocking all Galva crossings. BNSF was contacted and the train eventually moved along.
Police assisted a citizen who appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis in the 700 block of NW 4th Street.
While patrolling, police saw a loose dog running in the 800 block of North Center Avenue. The officer spoke to the owner in the 800 block of NE 1st Avenue and warned of the Illinois leash law.
Justin Frederick, 35, Knoxville, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle following a traffic stop in the 900 block of SE 2nd Street. He was released with a required court date.
James Smith, 61, Kewanee, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance following a traffic stop in the 900 block of SE 2nd Street. He was released with a required court date.
Police responded to a physical domestic disturbance involving a knife in the 500 block of SW 3rd Avenue. It was determined to be a child custody dispute. DCFS was contacted.
Police and fire departments responded to an apparent electrical fire in the 300 block of Market Street.
Michael Thuline, 56, Galva, was arrested for aggravated battery to a police officer, resisting a police officer resulting in injury, two counts of resisting a police officer, and disorderly conduct after police were called to remove an unwanted patron during the Christmas parade in the 300 block of Front Street. A struggle ensued between Thuline and the officer. He was taken to the Henry County Jail.

Dec. 1:
Police responded to a report of a reckless driver heading towards Galva at the west edge of town. The Officer was not able to locate the vehicle.
Sarah Spelman, 48, Chicago, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1000 block of North Center Avenue.
Don Ensley, 37, Kewanee, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1000 block of North Center Avenue.
Austin McCoy, 21, Kewanee, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1000 block of North Center Avenue.
