Police responded to a reckless driving complaint at the east edge of town. The officer located the suspect vehicle at a local business. The driver was advised of the complaint, and no signs of impairment were detected.

Police responded to a disabled tractor trailer that was blocking both lanes in the 400 block of NE 6th Avenue. An oversized wrecker was contacted and was able to remove it.

Police were present for a civil standby to retrieve property in the 800 block of NE 2nd Street.

Police responded to several 9-1-1 calls in the 300 block of SE 3rd Street. A grandparent advised that a young child was playing with a phone.

Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 600 block of SW 2nd Street. The dog was contained in a fenced area after the officer determined no one was home.

Police responded to an illegal burning complaint in the 100 block of NE 9th Street. The officer located a small tree stump burning and spoke with a subject about the city ordinance involving fires. The subject agreed to put out the fire.

Police responded to a complaint involving a group of juveniles playing basketball in the roadway in the 200 block of NW 5th Street.

Police responded to a disorderly conduct/stalking complaint in the 100 block of NW 6th Avenue.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 call in the 300 block of SE 3rd Street. It was determined to be a young child playing with a phone.

March 31:

Police assisted a subject who appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis in the 700 block of NW 4th Street.

Police spoke with a resident by telephone about a freedom of information request that had been submitted.

Police responded to a utilities complaint involving a telephone box that may have been damaged at NE 2nd Street and NE 5th Avenue. The officer knew that the box had prior damage and believed it was weather-related.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang up in the 200 block of South Exchange Street. It was determined to be a misdial.

Police assisted a subject who appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis in the 700 block of NW 4th Street.

Police assisted Stark County Medic with a medical emergency at a residence on SE 5th Street.

Police responded to a request to check on the welfare of a subject near the intersection of Main Street and Exchange Street. The officer was unable to locate anyone who needed assistance.

Police assisted Henry County with a physical domestic disturbance west of town.

Police responded to a loud noise complaint in the 500 block of SW 3rd Street.

April 1:

Police assisted a subject who appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis in the 700 block of NW 4th Street.

Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 100 block of North Center Avenue. The animal was taken to the pound and later returned to its owner in rural Bishop Hill.

Police responded to a loud noise complaint in the 00 block of SW 4th Street.

Police assisted a motorist who had a vehicle stuck on a muddy road just south of town on Industrial Avenue. The driver had walked to a Galva Motel. Knox County was advised of the vehicle.

April 2:

Police attempted to locate a wanted subject who was reportedly walking in the NW area of town. The officer did not locate them.

Police assisted a subject again who appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis in the 700 block of NW 4th Street.

While patrolling, police observed a railroad crossing arm malfunction at the SW 6th Avenue crossing. BNSF was contacted for repairs.

April 3:

Police, along with the fire department, responded to an activated carbon monoxide alarm at a residence on East Division Street.

Police assisted a subject who appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis in the 700 block of NW 4th Street.

Police, along with the fire department, were dispatched to the 400 block of SE 6th Avenue after a contractor struck a gas line. Until the gas line was shut off, several neighbors were evacuated.

Jevante Powe, 36, Galva, was arrested on two separate Henry County warrants for failing to appear on charges of driving while license suspended (2 counts) and another warrant for residential burglary and two counts of criminal damage to property after police attempted to locate a wanted subject in the 700 block of NW 2nd Street. These warrants had no bond, and he was transported to the Henry County Jail.

Police checked on the welfare of a subject at a residence on SE 6th Street. They were fine.

Police responded to a complaint involving a group of juveniles knocking on random doors and them running away in the 800 block of NE 2nd Street.

April 4:

Police responded to a theft complaint in the 100 block of NW 8th Avenue.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang up in the 400 block of SW 1st Avenue. It was determined to be a misdial.

Angela Ralston, 58, Galva, was arrested on a Stark County warrant for failing to appear on the charge of bad checks after police attempted to locate a wanted subject on a warrant in the 500 block of NW 7th Street. It was considered a catch and release warrant. She was given a new court date and released.

Police responded to a verbal domestic disturbance in the 400 block of SW 1st Avenue.

Police responded to a large verbal dispute involving two carloads of subjects in the 500 block of SE 2nd Street. They were dispersed.

April 5:

Police assisted a subject who appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis in the 700 block of NW 4th Street.

Police assisted a citizen in the 300 block of SW 3rd Street.

While patrolling, police observed a disabled vehicle in the 1300 block of SE 2nd Street. The officer assisted a subject with changing a tire.

Police responded to a verbal domestic disturbance in the 00 block of SW 4th Street.

Police assisted the ambulance with a medical emergency on Swank Street.

Jonathan Terry, 21, Galva, was issued a citation for operating an uninsured vehicle in the 300 block of SW 1st Avenue.
