March 26:
Police responded to a disturbance in the 300 block of SW 3rd Street. The subject was taken by ambulance for a mental health evaluation.
Police conducted a welfare check at a residence on SW 4th Street. The subject was fine.
Police responded to a telephone harassment/threats complaint in the 100 block of NE 6th Street.
March 27
Police responded to a disturbance in the 00 block of SW 4th Street. The subject appeared to be suffering a mental health crisis.
Police responded once again to a disturbance in the 00 block of SW 4th Street. The subject appeared to be suffering a mental health crisis.
Police assisted a motorist in the 00 block of NW 3rd Street. The subject had run out of fuel and had a friend bring a small can of gas and get him back on his way.
Police responded to a hit–and–run accident in the 500 block of SE 2nd Street. A suspect vehicle fled the area and was not located. A crash report was completed.
Police met with a subject at the GPD who was requesting copies of reports through the Freedom of Information Act.
March 28:
Police assisted a motorist whose vehicle had become disabled in the 200 block of SE 1st Avenue. The truck was pushed off the side of the roadway, and a wrecker was called to remove it.
Police and the fire departments responded to a fully engulfed vehicle at 300 North, just east of County Highway 5. The occupants were able to get out, but the car was completely destroyed.
March 29:
Police responded to a 2 a.m. complaint about a group of juveniles climbing onto the roof of the pavilion in Wiley Park. The officer was not able to locate anyone in the area.
Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 500 block of SW 4th Street. The animal owner took the dog back inside and was warned about the Illinois leash law.
Michael Huggins, 44, Kewanee, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance following a traffic stop in the 500 block of SW 4th Street. He was released with a required court date.
March 30:
While conducting a park check, police located broken windows at the Washington Park restroom building. The incident remains under investigation.
