Police responded to a request to assist with questions concerning an ordinance warning letter that had been received in the mail in the 600 block of SW 2nd Avenue.

Police were notified about a repossession that was taking place in the 100 block of Commercial Street. A vehicle was taken without incident.

Police spoke to a resident about an ordinance violation letter they received in the mail in the 800 block of NW 3rd Avenue.

Police responded to a complaint of a subject yelling outside in the 300 block of SW 3rd Street.

The subject appeared to be having a mental health crisis and agreed to go inside for the night.

March 12:

Police responded to a complaint involving a telephone scam in the 600 block of NW 5th Street.

Police responded to a lost cell phone complaint in the 00 block of NE 9th Street.

Police responded to an illegal burning complaint in the 200 block of NE 4th Street. The officer was not able to locate anything burning.

Police responded to a complaint in the 00 block of SW 4th Street. The officer made contact with the complainant, who declined to speak to police.

Police were dispatched to retrieve a cell phone that had been found in a parking lot in the 00 block of SW 2nd Street. It was taken to the Galva Police Department.

March 13:

Police assisted the Galva-Bishop Hill Fire Departments with a farm tractor fully engulfed in flames on 400 North near 1850 East.

Police were notified about a controlled burn of prairie grass that would take place on James B Young Road near Olaf Krans Avenue.

Police spoke to a complainant on the phone about a 16-year-old child who ran away from home earlier in the day. The child was located at a friend’s house.

Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 300 block of SE 3rd Street. The dog owner was warned about the Illinois leash law.

Police attended a forensic interview in reference to allegations of parental misconduct.

March 14:

Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 100 block of SE 1st Street. The officer was not able to locate the dog.

Police assisted the Galesburg Police Department with attempting to locate a subject in reference to a retail theft that occurred there. The subject was not located.

Rodney Broadfield, 64, Toulon, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle in the 200 block of SE 2nd Street. He was released with a required court date.

Karl Branom, 37, Kewanee, was issued a citation for having expired registration in the 700 block of West Division Street.

March 15:

Police met with a subject at the Galva Police Department to register them as a sex offender. The form was completed and emailed to Henry County for LEADS entry.

While patrolling, police noticed a vehicle door standing open on a parked car in the 500 block of SW 4th Street. The owner was notified.

Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 300 block of SE 2nd Avenue. The dog was returned to its owner.

Myles Spring, 20, Brimfield, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance in the 400 block of West Division Street. He was released with a required court date.

Jarrod Galli, 40, Neponset, was issued a citation for having expired registration in the 200 block of Main Street.

March 16:

Devon Austin, 40, Galesburg, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance in the 600 block of South Center Avenue. He was released with a required court date.

Police responded to a traffic complaint in the 600 block of NW 1st Street. The incident was referred to the State’s Attorney’s office for consideration.

Ashley Morgan, 25, East Moline, was issued a citation for having expired registration in the 700 block of West Division Street.

March 17:

Police responded to a burglary complaint that had just occurred in the 300 block of NE 9th Street. The officer located the suspect and determined it was a misunderstanding. The complainant’s husband had loaned the items to another subject and the wife was unaware of this.

Police responded to a reckless driving complaint in the 1000 block of North Center Avenue. The subject was located and said he was lost. Directions were given to the Chicago area.

Police responded to an illegal burning complaint in the 200 block of NE 2nd Street. The subject was warned, and the fire was put out.

Rebecca Muckey, 35, Galva, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance violation and illegal transportation of alcohol by a driver in the 100 block of SW 2nd Street. A passenger, Michael Bargar, 51, Galesburg, was also issued a citation for illegal transportation of alcohol by a passenger. They were both released with pending court dates.

Aiden Miller, 19, Kalamazoo, MI, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1000 block of SE 2nd Street.
