Arely Hernandez, 26, Kewanee, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended and operating an uninsured vehicle, following a traffic stop in the 300 block of Main Street. She was released with a required court date.

Police were flagged down about a city ordinance violation involving burning on a non-burn day in the 800 block of NW 1st Avenue.

Police conducted a welfare check while severe weather sirens were activated at a residence on North Center Avenue. The subject was fine.

Police responded to a disturbance/parking complaint in the 400 block of SW 1st Avenue.

Police assisted a citizen in the 00 block of SE 6th Street.

Police responded to a neighborhood complaint in the 400 block of NW 2nd Avenue.

Andrews DeJesus, 34, Chicago, and Atixat Sengmeuangkhoun, 24, Chicago, were each issued Administrative Warning Tickets (AWTs) for soliciting without a city permit following a solicitor complaint in the 400 block of SE 3rd Street.

Police responded to a crossing arm malfunction at the SW 6th Avenue train tracks. BNSF was contacted for repairs.

Emilio Garza, 36, Chicago, was issued a citation for having expired registration in the 100 block of Commercial Street.

June 18:

Police responded to a complaint about several dogs that ran away and two young children who followed them in the 300 block of NW 6th Avenue. A short time later, the dogs and children returned home.

Jacob Todd, 30, Galva, was arrested for aggravated domestic battery (strangulation) following police response to a report of a physical domestic disturbance in the 400 block of NE 2nd Avenue. He was transported to Henry County Jail.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang up in the 00 block of SE 8th Avenue. It was determined to be a pocket dial.

Police spoke with a subject by telephone about a loose dog complaint from the previous day.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 open line in the 200 block of Exchange Street. It was determined to be a misdial.

Ida Terry, 28, Galva, was issued an AWT for allowing dogs to run at large after police responded twice to a loose dog complaint in the 600 block of SW 2nd Avenue.

June 19:

Police responded to a fireworks complaint in the 700 block of NW 3rd Avenue.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang up in the 1100 block of SE 2nd Street. It was determined to be a pocket dial from a passing motorist.

June 20:

Police responded to a 9-1-1 open line at Sentry Estates. It was determined to be an accidental dial.

Police assisted a motorist who appeared to be broken down on Route 34 east of town. The subject was fine and was able to continue driving.

Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 400 block of NW 1st Street. The animal was located and taken to the pound. It was later returned after the owner contacted the police.

Police assisted the ambulance with lifting a patient on SW 4th Avenue.
