Police met with a citizen regarding a recent call for service at the Galva Police Department.
Police responded to an intruder/disturbance complaint in the 300 block of SW 3rd Street. The complaint was unfounded and considered a mental health crisis.
Police, the fire department and Stark County Medic, were dispatched to assist Henry County with a two-vehicle accident several miles north of town on the Galva-Atkinson blacktop.
Police responded to a city ordinance violation in the 500 block of SW 3rd Street. A resident was burning on a non-burn day. The fire was extinguished.
July 23:
Police responded to a report of a utility wire hanging low and caught in a tree in the 200 block of SE 1st Street. The wire was identified as a phone wire. Frontier was contacted for repairs.
While patrolling, a police officer was flagged down and handed an Illinois driver’s instructional permit in the 400 block of SE 2nd Street. The officer recognized the owner, and the permit was returned.
Lucas Gustafson, 38, Galva, was arrested for domestic battery following a 9-1-1 call in the 400 block of SW 1st Street. He was taken to the Henry Co Jail.
Police conducted a welfare check on several young children at a residence on SE 1st Street.
Tony Porter, 48, Kewanee, was issued a citation for speeding in the 800 block of North Center Avenue.
July 24:
Police responded to a complaint of two loose dogs in the 300 block of SE 2nd Street. The officer was not able to locate them.
Police spoke to a subject by telephone about a possible violation of an order of protection.
While patrolling, police saw a solicitor going door-to-door in the 100 block of NE 4th Street. The subject did not have a solicitor’s permit and was referred to City Hall.
Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang-up call in the 100 block of SW 2nd Street. The officer was not able to locate anyone needing assistance.
July 25:
Police responded to a solicitor complaint in the 00 block of SW 9th Avenue. The subject did not have the required permit and was referred to City Hall.
Police responded to a complaint of disorderly conduct-telephone harassment in the 900 block of SE 6th Street.
July 26:
Police spoke to a resident concerning a city ordinance in the 1000 block of NW 3rd Avenue.
Police delivered a message about a wallet which had been located to a residence in the 600 block of NW 7th Avenue.
Police responded to a solicitor complaint in the 800 block of NW 1st Avenue. The officer was not able to locate the subject.
Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 600 block of NE 2nd Street. The dog returned home within a few minutes.
Police responded to a forgery complaint in the 600 block of SE 2nd Street.
Police met with a sex offender to complete their change of address form at the Galva Police Department.
Police assisted a subject in the 500 block of NE 3rd Street.
Police assisted a subject with a dead battery on their electric wheelchair in the 300 block of Market Street.
Police responded to a solicitor complaint in the 300 block of North Center Avenue. The subject was referred to City Hall to get a permit.

Police and the fire department responded to a vehicle fire in the 500 block of SE Industrial Avenue.
Police responded to a complaint involving inappropriate photos that were sent at a residence on NW 7th Avenue.
Police responded to a request to remove an unwanted subject in the 00 block of SW 4th Street.
Police responded to a burning complaint in the 800 block of NW 3rd Avenue.
Police responded to a complaint involving unattended children in Sentry Estates. They were being supervised.
Police responded to a civil property dispute in the 100 block of SE 4th Avenue.

July 28:
Police responded to a request to remove an unwanted subject in the 500 block of SW 3rd Avenue.
Police, the fire department and Stark County Medic were dispatched to assist Henry County with a single-vehicle accident on Bonham Road near 1950 East.
Police and the fire department responded to an activated fire alarm in the 00 block of SW 4th Street. A faulty smoke detector was considered to be the source.
Samantha Schaefer, 43, Galesburg, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1100 block of SE 2nd Street.
