Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang-up call in the 400 block of SE 7th Avenue. It was determined to be a misdial.

Police responded to a verbal disturbance/neighbor dispute in the 00 block of SW 4th Street. The suspect appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis.

Police responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint in the 200 block of NE 2nd Avenue. The owner was contacted and agreed to move it.

Jan. 7:

Police met with a registered sex offender at the Galva Police Department to update their registration form. A copy was emailed to Henry County for LEADS entry.

Police responded to a report involving four loose dogs in the 800 block of West Division Street. The owner was contacted and took them inside the residence.

Police responded to a possible suicide at a residence on NW 7th Avenue. The complaint was unfounded.

Jan. 8:

George Villa, 73, Hanna City, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance following a traffic stop in the 200 block of SE 2nd Street. He was released with a required court date.

Justin Johnson, 36, Woodhull, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle following a traffic stop in the 00 block of NW 5th Avenue. He was released with a required court date.

Leah Anderson, 27, Galva, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance following a traffic stop in the 200 block of SE 5th Avenue. She was released with a required court date.

Alice Smith, 37, Galva, was issued a citation for having expired registration in the 00 block of SW 2nd Street.

Jan. 9:

Tracy Wunderlich, 46, Kewanee, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance in the 100 block of SE 2nd Street. She was released with a required court date.

Police assisted a citizen by telephone concerning a juvenile complaint.

Police responded to a solicitor complaint in the 700 block of NW 5th Avenue. Three subjects were located and educated about the city ordinance that requires a permit.

Police assisted a citizen in the 00 block of SW 5th Street.

Jan. 10:

Kaynen Bond, 21, Kewanee, was arrested for domestic battery and criminal damage to property after police responded to a physical domestic disturbance in the 300 block of Front Street. He was taken to the Henry County Jail.

Police responded to a civil standby to retrieve property in the 300 block of Front Street.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang-up call in the 700 block of West Division Street. It was determined to be a pocket dial.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang-up call in the 900 block of SE 2nd Street. The officer was unable to locate anyone needing assistance.

Police assisted Henry County in checking the welfare of a subject walking several miles north of town. The subject was located and refused any assistance.

Keith Bell, 58, Williamsfield, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and obstructing a police officer following a traffic stop in the 200 block of SW 1st Avenue. He was taken to the Galva Police Department for processing and transported to the Henry County Jail.

Jan. 11:

Police responded to a harassment complaint in the 300 block of Front Street.

A subject was served with a banning letter that prohibits him from being present on the premises following an incident in the 300 block of Front Street that occurred on the previous day.

Melissa Kelly, 47, Galva, was issued a citation for having expired registration in the 100 block of NE 2nd Street.

Jan. 12:

Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 900 block of NW 6th Street. The officer was unable to locate the animal.
