Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 300 block of SW Fourth Avenue. The animal was returned to its owner, who was advised of the Illinois leash laws.

Police responded to a complaint involving a subject walking from Atkinson to Galva. The subject refused a ride home and continued walking.

Police responded to a request from a local business to recover contraband that was found at that location in the 00 block of SW Second Street. The situation remains under investigation as video footage is being reviewed.

Scott Ford, 47, Media, Ill., was issued a citation for speeding in the 1100 block of SE Second Street.

Jan. 30:

Police met with a subject at the GPD to register as a murderer or violent offender against youth as he was moving to an address within the city.

Police responded to a request to remove an unwanted subject following a verbal disturbance in the 100 block of North Exchange Street.

Police attended a civil standby to retrieve property in the 200 block of SE Seventh Avenue.

Police responded to a report of a subject having a mental health crisis and making repeated calls to Henry County dispatch in the 00 block of NE Fourth Street.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 open line call which was determined to be a pocket dial in the 00 block of SW Fourth Street.

Nicole Barry, 40, Galesburg, was issued citations for failure to secure new registration upon transfer of ownership and having expired registration in the 900 block of SE Second Street.

Jan. 31:

Police responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle that was occupied and parked in the area for several hours in the 300 block of Front Street. It was determined that the subject had pulled over for a short nap.

Randy Isaman, 57, Burlington, Iowa, was arrested for improper operating of a commercial motor vehicle without a valid CDL. His semi-tractor trailer had become stuck in the soft shoulder on the roadway in the 1000 block of SE Second Street. He was released with a required court date.

Police responded to a theft report in the 300 block of Third Street. It was determined to be a subject having a mental health crisis.

Police responded to a physical altercation and to remove an unwanted subject in the 200 block of SW Fifth Street. A report was forwarded to the State’s Attorney’s Office for review of possible charges.

Feb. 1:

Police responded to a 9-1-1 call that had plotted in the 1100 block of SE Second Street. The area was checked, but the officer did not locate anyone needing assistance.

Police, along with the fire department, Stark County Medic, and the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, responded to a semi-tanker truck rollover accident on Route 34 near 2400 East. The driver was flown by helicopter to a Peoria area hospital for treatment.

Police met with a resident at the Galva Police Department to talk about a civil matter.

Police responded to a wild animal complaint involving a possible sick or injured raccoon in the 800 block of NE Third Avenue. The animal was relocated to a nearby wooded area.

Police responded to a request for a welfare check on an elderly subject in the 00 block of SW Fourth Street. The officer was not able to locate the subject.

Police responded to a report of multiple death threats being received by Henry County dispatch in the 00 block of NE Fourth Street. The subject was detained and transported to Robert Young for an involuntary commitment into mental health services.

Police responded to a request for a welfare check in the 300 block of SW Third Street. The subject was reported to be fine.

Justin Slichenmyer, 34, and Bryce Shores, 27, both of Galva, were arrested for aggravated battery by the Henry County Sheriff’s Department in the 00 block of NE Fourth Avenue. Both men were transported to the Henry County jail.

Feb. 2:

Police, along with Stark County Medic and the fire department, responded to a single-vehicle accident with an unresponsive driver on Route 34 west of town. The subject was transported by ambulance for treatment.

Police responded to a request for a welfare check on NE Fourth Street. The subject was reported to be fine.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang-up call that was plotted to a cell tower in the 900 block of SE Second Street. The officer was not able to locate anyone needing assistance.

Police assisted with a civil standby to retrieve property in the 200 block of SE Seventh Avenue.

Feb. 3:

Donald Ensley, 37, Galva, was issued an administrative warning ticket (AWT) for violating the city’s vehicle ordinance after police located an unlicensed vehicle in the 100 block of NE Ninth Street.

Police assisted with a civil standby to retrieve property in the 200 block of SE Seventh Avenue.

Police responded to a complaint of a domestic disturbance in the 100 block of SE Fourth Street. The complaint was unfounded.

Police assisted the Kewanee Police Department to locate a suicidal subject that might be in the Galva area. The subject was ultimately located in Geneseo.

Police, along with his K9 partner, assisted the Henry County Sheriff’s Department, with several traffic stops around the Galva area.

Feb. 4:

Police responded to a crossing arm malfunction at the Exchange Street railroad tracks. BNSF was contacted for repairs.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 open line call in the 300 block of Main Street. It was determined to be a misdial.

Alex Muller, 38, Galesburg, was arrested for driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured vehicle in the 00 block of SE Third Street. He was transported to the Galva Police Department for processing and then released with a required court date.

Police responded to a reckless driving complaint in the 400 block of SE Second Street. The suspect vehicle was located and a traffic stop was conducted. The driver stated he was overly tired.

Police responded to a theft report in the 00 block of SW Fourth Street.

Patrick Hammons, 67, Galva, was issued a citation for having expired registration following a traffic stop in the 800 block of SE Second Street.
