Jan. 12:

While patrolling, police noticed that all of the Galva railroad crossing gates were down and activated with no trains present. BNSF was contacted, and after an extended time, they were reset.

Police met with a subject at the Galva Police Department to discuss an impounded vehicle.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang up complaint in the 00 block of SW 4th Street. It was determined to be a subject having phone issues.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 call that plotted moving through town on Route 34. It was determined to be a pocket dial from a delivery driver. The driver denied needing emergency services.

Police responded to a request to remove an unwanted subject in the 600 block of NW 7th Street. It was determined to be a civil issue between a landlord and a tenant.

Jan. 13:

While patrolling, police noticed an occupied vehicle in the roadway in the 800 block of NW 6th Street. The vehicle was losing motor oil. A tow truck was contacted and removed the vehicle.

Police met with a subject at the Galva Police Department to register them as a violent offender against youth. The form was completed and emailed to Henry County for LEADS entry.

Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 300 block of SE 2nd Street.

Jan. 14:

Police responded to a 9-1-1 open line in the 300 block of Front Street. It was determined to be an accidental misdial.

Police responded to a telephone harassment complaint in the 600 block of NW 7th Street.

Jan.15:

Police found a debit card in the 200 block of SW 2nd Avenue. The card owner was contacted, and the card was returned to them.

Police assisted Stark County Medic with a medical emergency at a residence on NW 6th Avenue.

Jan. 16:

Police responded to a theft complaint in the 400 block of NW 5th Street. It was determined to be a civil matter.

Police conducted a civil standby to retrieve property in the 200 block of NE 4th Street.

Jan. 17:

Police assisted a citizen gain entry into their residence after the owner heard noises in the 100 block of SE 3rd Street. The officer gained entry and found broken water pipes flooding the house. The water service was shut off until repairs could be completed.

Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 600 block of NW 7th Street.

Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 500 block of SW 7th Street.

Sarah Terwilliger, 33, Biggsville, was issued a citation for having expired registration in the 900 block of West Division Street.

Jan.18:

Phillip Muckey, 31, Galesburg, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle following a traffic stop in the 400 block of NW 4th Avenue. He was released with a required court date.

While patrolling, police noticed a train had stopped and was blocking several Galva railroad crossings. BNSF was contacted, and the train eventually moved along.

Patricia Brudnicki, 32, Galesburg, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle following a traffic stop in the 300 block of South Center Avenue. She was released with a required court date.

Police, along with several area fire departments, were dispatched to a structure fire on Bonham Road just west of town.
