Police assisted the Henry County Sheriff’s Office with a barricaded subject that was injured in a UTV rollover accident in rural Cambridge. The subject ultimately surrendered and was provided medical care.

Jaden Wilson, 18, Galva, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1000 block of SE 2nd Street.

Rex McLeren, 62, Galesburg, was issued citations for having expired registration and no insurance in the 300 block of SE 2nd Street.

April 23:

Police responded to a city ordinance violation involving a sump pump flowing into the public street in the 400 block of NW 1st Avenue. The situation was resolved.

Police assisted the Henry County Sheriff’s Office with a suspicious person who was lying along the roadway several miles north of town. The subject was located and refused services.

Police responded to a civil property dispute in the 100 block of South Center Avenue.

Police responded to a request for assistance by a motorist with a disabled vehicle on Route 34 east of town.

Police responded to a suspicious person complaint in the 200 block of South Exchange Street.
The officer checked the area and was not able to locate the subject.

Abraham Duarte-Garcia, 26, Kewanee, was issued a citation for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance. He was released with a required court date.

April 24:

Police responded to a citizen’s request for assistance in the 600 block of NW 1st Street.

Jeffrey Bridgewater, 61, Kewanee, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1000 block of North Center Avenue.

April 25:

Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 1000 block of NW 7th Avenue. The animal was impounded.

Police responded to a harassment complaint in the 300 block of NE 5th Street.

Police responded to a damage to property complaint in the 100 block of SW 6th Avenue.

Patrick Hammons, 68, Galva, was issued citations for illegal transportation of alcohol by a driver and failure to wear a seatbelt following a traffic stop in the 1300 block of SE 2nd Street.

Police responded to a possible prowler complaint in the 300 block of Swank Street. The officers checked the area and did not locate anyone.

Police assisted the Knox County Sheriff’s Department with a domestic disturbance in the 1900 block of Knox Road 2900 North. Knox County officers responded and took over the scene.

Police responded to a theft complaint involving several juveniles in the 00 block of SW 2nd Street.

April 26:

Police responded to a loose dog complaint at a residence north of town. The animal was returned to its owner.

Police responded to a loose dog complaint in the 600 block of SW 4th Street. Two dogs were impounded.

Police responded to an open-door complaint in the 00 block of NW 5th Street. The residence was checked and nobody was found.

Police responded to a civil property dispute in the 900 block of North Center Avenue.

Police met with a resident and submitted a freedom of information request in the 600 block of NW 1st Street.

April 27:

Police responded to a medical emergency involving an unresponsive subject at a residence on NW 3rd Avenue. The patient was transported by ambulance.

Terence Gade, 68, Machesney Park, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, disobeying a stop sign, and for failure to use a turn signal in the 300 block of Commercial Street. He was released with a required court date.

Police responded to a disturbance complaint in the 300 block of SW 3rd Street. The subject appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis.

Lindsay Kraus, 33, Galesburg, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1100 block of SE 2nd Street.

Matthew Whitaker, 45, Leon, Iowa, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1100 block of SE 2nd Street.

Linda Winkler, 75, Peoria, was issued citations for speeding and no insurance in the 1000 block of SE 2nd Street.

Jairo Ojeda, 30, Monmouth, was issued a citation for having expired registration in the 1100 block of SE 2nd Street.

Sarah Lucas, 30, Galva, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1100 block of SE 2nd Street.

Alexandria Pollock, 24, Kewanee, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1100 block of SE 2nd Street.

John Larson, 87, Galva, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1100 block of SE 2nd Street.

April 28:

Police responded to a 9-1-1 hang-up call in the 900 block of SE 2nd Street. It was determined to be an accidental misdial.

Police responded to a dog bite complaint in the 600 block of NW 7th Avenue. A subject was bitten by their own dog and suffered minor injuries.

Police responded to a complaint involving a group of juveniles not playing well together in Wiley Park.

Police spoke to a subject by telephone, who claimed to have information about several unsolved cases. It was determined that the information was meant for Galva, Kansas. The complainant was given the correct contact information.

Police responded to an activated burglar alarm at a residence east of town. It was determined to be a false alarm.

Leslie Robinson, 38, Putnam, was issued citations for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for mandatory insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle in the 400 block of East Division Street.
