KEWANEE, Ill. – The K-Town Yard Sale, a new community-wide yard sale event organized by The Kewanee Voice, is adding a tasty twist to the lineup.
Food trucks will be joining the event, bringing an extra layer of flavor for shoppers. The citywide sale will run from Thursday, May 1, to Saturday, May 3, with the food trucks coming to town on the final day, Saturday.
So far, three food trucks have committed to the event, offering a variety of cuisines to satisfy shoppers and sellers. Organizers have hinted that up to two more trucks may join the lineup, promising a tasty end to the three-day event. For vendors without a fixed location in town, B & B Printing has generously provided its parking lot as a potential gathering spot for the trucks.
“The food trucks are a fantastic addition to K-Town Yard Sale,” said Janie Metscaviz, office manager for The Voice. “They’ll give participants a chance to refuel and make the last day of the sale even more enjoyable.”
The Kewanee Voice is still seeking additional food trucks to join the festivities. Vendors interested in participating are encouraged to email Janie Metscaviz at metscavizj@gmail.com or call 309-489-2721 Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
K-Town Yard Sale is the first of its kind in Kewanee and will offer shoppers a chance to find hidden treasures while connecting with their neighbors. The hope is the inclusion of food trucks will draw even more attendees and create a fun atmosphere.
For a donation of $20 to the nonprofit news organization, sellers will also be able to list their addresses and some of their sale items on The Kewanee Voice website and get their sale included on a map that bargain hunters can use to plot their course.
