The Abingdon-Avon Tornadoes held a 33-27 lead Friday night after three quarters of play, but the Flying Geese used a big 20-9 fourth quarter to overtake the Tornadoes for the 47-42 win. 

Abingdon-Avon led 10-5 after the first quarter, but Wethersfield outscored the Tornadoes 11-6 in the second frame to knot the score at 16 at the break. 

Colin Hornback scored seven points in the second quarter and 10 in the first half to lead the Geese. Carter Redfern had six first quarter points for Abingdon-Avon. 

The Tornadoes outscored the Geese 17-11 in the third quarter and took a 33-27 lead heading into the final quarter. Asa Stegall and Redfern teamed up for 13 third-quarter points.

In the pivotal fourth quarter, Landon Sauer scored 10 points and Hornback tacked on six more as the Geese outscored the Tornadoes, 20-9. Stegall scored 12 in the second half for Abingdon-Avon. 

Hornback topped all scorers with 19 points, Sauer chipped in with 14 and Zeb Rashid added seven for the Geese.

Stegall led the Tornadoes with 18 and Redfern scored 14 on the night. 

Wethersfield is 6-10 on the season and 2-1 in LTC play, while Abingdon-Avon slips to 8-10 and 1-1.
