The Kewanee Fire Department will be conducting hydrant flow tests on Friday, April 25.
According to a news release from Fire Chief Stephen Welgat, the flow tests are being conducted to assist the Henry-Stark Special Education building, located at the former American Legion building on Railroad Avenue, assess flow rates for its water supply.
Residents and businesses in the area, including, but not limited to Railroad Avenue, Bunn Avenue, Harbour and See streets, could experience rusty, low pressure or absence of water during the testing.
Residents and business owners who experience rusty water are reminded to run their cold-water supply until the rust clears. Running hot water could potentially draw rust and other particles into your water heater.
