Another Hog Days is under our belts, as people turned out in Kewanee during the 4-day Labor Day weekend. The festival kicked off with a barrow show to crown King Hog and ended with a Kid’s Day on Monday. The final pork chop was sold Monday afternoon.
Entertainment, carnival rides, a flea and craft market, and plenty of food were all part of Hog Days 2024: That’s the Way I Like It!

The crowd came out Saturday night for Decade of Decadence. The World Festival court took to the stage to ask for donations for the band Saturday.

The weather was perfect for the annual Flea and Craft market on Sunday.
Kids get a day, too
Face painting was a hit with a long line on Kid’s Day Monday. Photo below, the Kewanee Police Department held their annual dunk tank, which allowed kids to dunk a police officer. Police officers passed out stickers and other goodies. Below left, the Kewanee Fire Department got into the act with a rescue obstacle course. Below right, D’s Freeze offered tasty, cool treats at the PNB parking lot. A rock climbing wall gave kids a chance to make it to the top.
