Irving School third grade classes showcased their creative side when they held their annual fundraiser and Valentine Box Contest this week. The students let their creativity shine resulting in some unique and imaginative Valentine boxes.

Irving School in Kewanee currently has six third grade classes and the students in each class participated in the contest. The boxes were displayed in the school gym on Tuesday and family and friends were invited to view the students’ hard work and vote on their favorite.

Cost per vote was a quarter. A winner was selected from each of the six classes along with an overall winner, which hasn’t been announced publicly.

This year’s fundraiser brought in $1700 that will enable the students to enjoy extracurricular activities such as a swimming or bowling day.
