Area cross country athletes competed Saturday in the Patriot XC Invitational at Detweiler Park in Peoria.

The first area runner across the finish line in the boys three-mile race was Noah Feltner of Annawan-Wethersfield, who finished 100th in 17:45. Cash Verstraete of the Titans placed 148th in 18:29.4, Logan Davis was 166th in 18:52.9, Daylon Hendrix was 228th in 20:28.3, Lucas Fehlberg placed 270th in 22:45.8 and Nathan Van Cleve was 287th in 23:52.3.

Chase Palm was the first Kewanee High runner in, placing 151st in 18:30.4. Jason Rusk of the Boilers was 172nd in 18:57.5, Hunter Vancil was 205th in 19:47.4, Mitchal Thorp was 258th in 21:25.9 and Richard Millman was 277th in 23:13.1.

For the girls, Kewanee’s Natalee Martin finished 75th in a time of 20:47.8. Nolie Charlet of Kewanee was 120th in 21:48.4.

Other Kewanee girls in the race were Esmeralda Martinez, 169th, 23:27.0, and Alejandra Martinez, 214th, 25:57.4.

Annawan-Wethersfield’s Paige Sierens was 97th in 21:20.8. Also running for A-W were Tyra Church,, 245th, 30:01.2; Ellie Merrick, 246th, 30:02; and Ella Anderson, 252nd, 36.46.8.

Emily Downing of Cambridge placed fifth at 18:07.1.

Alex Holt of Annawan-Wethersfield ran 84th in a junior varsity race in 27:42.8.
