This year’s “Cocktails for a Cause,” held at Midland Country Club on Saturday, Nov. 18, raised $10,000 and all of it was donated to Freedom House, the domestic and sexual violence agency that serves five counties of Henry, Stark, Marshall, Bureau and Putnam.
Many of those attending also brought needed items on the Freedom House “wish list.”

Dancing and a wide array of appetizers were enjoyed by the crowd of over 100 women. Numerous raffle and silent auction items including designer handbags, exercise equipment and large gift baskets added to the evening’s financial success. According to Committee Chair Jami Rieker, the committee is already planning for another event in November, 2024.
Anyone experiencing domestic or sexual violence is encouraged to contact Freedom House at www.freedomhouseillinois.org or by calling (800) 474-6031. All services are free and confidential.
