Entries for the 2025 Hog Days Parade are now being accepted, the Ambassador Club announced.

“Entering is fast, easy and free,” said Mark Mikenas, executive director for the Kewanee Chamber of Commerce.

Prospective participants can log onto the KCOC website at www.kewanee-il.com/parade. It takes just a few minutes to register online and Mikenas is encouraging people to utilize this service. Paper entry forms are also available at the chamber office.

For the 50th year, the Ambassador Club of Kewanee will take on the line up duties of the parade for the Hog Capital Festival Committee. This year’s theme selected by the Festival Committee is “Pigs Just Wanna Have Fun!” Parade entries are encouraged to follow the theme when putting together an entry.

“Commercial entries that are not decorated jeopardize their participation in the parade,” said Mikenas.

Deadline for entries will be the close of business – 5 p.m. on Monday, August 18. This year’s parade will kick off at 2 p.m. sharp rain or shine on Saturday, August 30.

Awards and cash prizes are awarded to winners in the following categories: Not for Profit, Commercial, Most Original, Sweepstakes and the Ambassador Cup.
