The second annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration was held Saturday in downtown Kewanee complete with perfect weather, crowds, plenty of food options, music, vendors and fun. The event was hosted by End Zone and is sponsored each year by the Kewanee Commission on Human Relations. It coincides with National Hispanic Heritage Month.

Attendees were provided with several food options at food trucks and booths. Vendors set up to sell their goods; nonprofits were on hand to provide information about their organization and The Painted Cupcake offered face painting for the kids.

Before the entertainment portion of the evening began, Mayor Gary Moore first took to the stage, set up in the Good’s parking lot off Third Street, to declare Sept. 15-Oct. 15 as Hispanic Heritage Month in Kewanee.
