Attention area shutter bugs, the Kewanee Park District is inviting local photographers to showcase their talent in a community wide photography contest celebrating the beauty and programs of Kewanee parks.

The contest’s photography theme is “Kewanee Parks” with categories of wildlife, landscapes/nature, people at play/recreation and sports. Photos need to be taken in a Kewanee District Park and free from any watermarks.

Contestants are allowed two entries and must sign a waiver of rights and a release. The photos will be judged anonymously by the park board. All prints will be displayed at the Park District and then given back to the winners after next season winners are announced. Entry deadline is Nov. 1.

Winners 18+ from each of the categories will be entered into “Give Us Your Best Shot 2025-26 Contest” by the Illinois Association of Park Districts (IAPD).
